Yazmin, originally from Northern Wisconsin, is a powerhouse songwriter and musician who’s talents have landed her on stage with the likes of Nanci Griffith, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Maykel Blanco. She’s spent more than half her life immersed in Cuban music and has woven these deep influences into her own songwriting. She visits Cuba frequently and leads music and dance-focused group trips there. In 2023 she joined forces with Grammy-nominated Álvaro Benavides from New York City on bass and Andrew Gillespie from Minneapolis, MN on drums, to form the latest version of her band Beat Zero. Yazmin has three albums to her name and the debut recording of this particular lineup is set to be released in August ’25.
