This is the third show in a series highlighting music from iconic soloists, duos, trios, and groups that have influenced generations of musicians. Featuring Ginger Commodore and her dynamic trio, this performance showcases music from leading bandleaders of the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s. Expect a lively mix as they swing, bebop, and groove to the sounds that bop, before smoothing it all out. The set includes music from legendary groups like The Bill Evans Trio and The Oscar Peterson Trio, along with popular tunes from trio songwriting teams, and vocals from jazz icons like Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, and Sarah Vaughan.

Ginger Commodore is a singer, songwriter and actress who enjoys an illustrious career in the Twin Cities area. She is an original member of the Grammy Award-winning singing ensemble The Sounds of Blackness and vocal jazz ensemble Moore by Four. Ginger’s theatrical credits include productions with the Minnesota Opera Company, the Mixed Blood Theatre, the Children’s Theatre Company, Hey City Theatre, the Penumbra Theatre Company, Chanhassen Dinner Theatres and Park Square Theatre. She recently debuted as Music Director for the musical “Memphis”, for Artistry at Bloomington Center for the Arts.
