Sherwin Linton began his career at age 16 with a live radio show on station KWAT in his hometown of Watertown, SD. Moving to Minneapolis in 1958 Sherwin organized “The Fender Benders”, a popular ballroom and nightclub act that toured throughout the Midwest. In 1966 Sherwin journeyed to Nashville and recorded “Cotton King”, a song that hit the Top 10 in 1967. Changing the band name to “The Cotton Kings”, Sherwin was signed by country music icon Roy Acuff to his company and Linton was soon performing across the country from the Grand Ol’ Opry to Las Vegas. Sherwin has been inducted into twelve Halls of Fame, including the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame and the National Traditional Country Music Hall of Fame. In addition to performing his own hits, Sherwin has been performing his highly acclaimed tribute to Johnny Cash for over fifty years and was also a frequent guest on Johnny’s touring show.
