A Wonderful Night of Jazz
This show features three acclaimed Twin Cities jazz veterans in a new format, and is not to be missed. The opening set showcases Joel Shapira on guitar paired with Larry McDonough on piano, reprising their sublime duo tribute to jazz greats Bill Evans and Jim Hall. Vocalist Charmin Michelle then joins the duo to recreate tunes by Monk, Porter, Holiday, Horace Silver and more. Expect beautiful harmonies,, romantic melodies and swinging classics.

Guitarist Joel Shapira and vocalist Charmin Michelle are the longest standing jazz duo in the Twin Cities. At 27 years and running, three recordings, and hundreds of gigs in the metro area and beyond, they’ve created a formidable repertoire and loyal following. Pianist Larry McDonough has been a mainstay on the Twin Cities jazz scene for over 40 years. McDonough leads his own quartet, and has also paired up with Shapira on guitar, for their sublime Bill Evans/Jim Hall tribute.
