Lonesome tonight? Got heartaches by the number? A hankering for pedal steel guitar, some lonesome Floyd Cramer piano and a Patsy Cline yodel? Time for a date with Lush Country, playing the best country songs of the 1940s, ’50s and ‘60s, from Eddy Arnold to Tammy Wynette and back again. A supergroup of local singers and multi-instrumentalists, all veterans of A Prairie Home Companion and decades of performing and touring.

Dan Chouinard (piano, accordion, vocals) accompanist for Twin Cities performers, an enabler of community sing-alongs and a writer of hit shows. / Peter Johnson (percussion) drummer with Doc Severinsen, Dave Brubeck, Manhattan Transfer, Gene Pitney. / Prudence Johnson (vocals) a multifaceted singer who’s appeared around the globe, in two films and over a dozen albums. / Gary Raynor (bass) has played with the Count Basie band, Sammy Davis Jr., and at Crooners with Marilyn Maye and countless others. / Gary Rue (guitar, vocals) is writer of 70 theater musicals, and was conductor and arranger for Gene Pitney and his 15-piece orchestra. / Joe Savage (pedal steel) has performed with such country legends as Hank Thompson, Margo Smith, Stonewall Jackson and Wanda Jackson.
