Larry McDonough saw Bill Evans perform in the 1970s, and Joel Shapira met Jim Hall when he lived in New York City. They will perform music from their new live recording celebrating the music of pianist Bill Evans and guitarist Jim Hall. Included will be pieces from the classic Evans and Hall recordings “Undercurrent” and “Intermodulation” along with pieces that Evans and Hall performed separately that they might have included in another recording had Bill Evans lived longer, and pieces written by Larry and Joel in the spirit of Evans and Hall. Hear the magic Bill Evans and Jim Hall made and what might have been.

Guitarist Joel Shapira is a nationally acclaimed musician residing in St. Paul / Minneapolis MN. He’s a leader and/or member of multiple top Twin Cities’ jazz ensembles, as well as a master of the demanding discipline of solo guitar.
