Nov 8 | 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
An Evening of Great Original Music
Singer/songwriter Ann Reed and instrumentalist/composer extraordinaire Joan Griffith return to the Dunsmore room! An evening of music with these two amazing performers is uplifting, fun and sure to soothe the weary soul.
Ann Reed: Vocals,12-string Guitar
Joan Griffith: Bass, Guitar, Mandolin
Singer, songwriter Ann Reed has been performing coast to coast for much-loved fans for more than 45 years. Her rich vocals, masterful 12-string guitar and keen wit entertain audiences on center stage, but the real stars of the show are her songs. Beautifully crafted melodies and lyrics have earned Ann accolades from audiences and fellow musicians alike. A Minnesota native, Ann tells stories from the human experience. Some of her songs and stories may end up closer to your funny bone – a little irreverence never hurt anyone. Ann is also the author of a novel, Citizens of Campbell and co-author of The Less Said: A Collection of Short-Form Poetry.
Joan Griffith never met a stringed instrument she didn’t like. Known in the Midwest as a teacher, performer and composer, she has toured and recorded extensively as a classical and jazz guitarist, bassist and mandolinist. Joan’s CDs — her latest is Sambanova 2 — feature many of her own compositions. She teaches jazz improvisation, guitar, bass and mandolin and directs the jazz band at Macalester College.
