Don’t miss the Tony nominated Broadway star and platinum selling singer/songwriter in “Ann Hampton Callaway Sings the 70’s” for a night of rousing and beautiful classics. Callaway covers hits from the great songwriters of the time-Carole King, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Billy Joel, John Lennon and more. And she puts her own stamp on the unforgettable songs from The Carpenters, Linda Ronstadt, Barbra Streisand, Roberta Flack and other beloved singers of the time.
Ann Hampton Callaway is a multi-award winning and multi-platinum selling singer/songwriter whose songs have been recorded by Liza Minnelli, Pattie LuPone, Elaine Paige, and Lillias White. Barbra Streisand has recorded several of Ann’s songs, which are featured on seven of the musical icon’s albums. Ms Streisand even asked Ann to write the lyrics to what would become her wedding song to actor James Brolin, “I’ve Dreamed Of You.” She has written with Carole King, Melissa Manchester, and is the only artist to have collaborated with Cole Porter. Ann’s unique singing style of blending jazz with traditional pop has kept her a mainstay in concert halls from Carnegie Hall to the Hollywood Bowl, in jazz clubs throughout the world, on recordings, and on television and film. Ann received a Tony nomination for her Broadway debut in SWING! And of course, she’s best known for having written and sung the theme song to the classic TV show The Nanny. Her latest record, Fever: A Peggy Lee Celebration! is available now on Palmetto Records.
